Kellie Pickler
Kellie Pickler made her name on the fifth season of American Idol, but even before her appearance in the finals her talent had been picked up and she was signed with 19 Recordings/BNA Records.
Pickler's vibrant vocals and bubbly personality won over the judges on the televised talent show, and endeared her to viewers as well, making it to the top six, before being voted off the show, and heading towards her recording contract in Nashville.
Being a motherless child and having a father who was in and out of prison gave Kellie the inner stength to follow her dreams, and producer Blake Chancey who worked with The Dixie Chicks, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Jim Lauderdale helped bring out the best in her. Kellie Pickler also developed as a songwriter, and she was co-writer on five of Small Town Girl album's songs, including the two most deeply personal songs I Wonder and My Angel, written about her mother and her grandmother, respectively.
