Justin Townes Earle

Seemingly destined to be a musician from birth, Justin Townes Earle is of course the son of Steve Earle, and in part named after Earle's great songwriting mentor and friend, Townes Van Zandt.

Earle Snr's indulgence is well documented, and Justin perhaps unwisely followed the same route, with his own well-formed drug habit resulting in him being fired from his role in The Dukes. Before that he had been playing rock with The Distributors and bluegrass with The Swindlers.

Having cleaned up his act and re-focussing on his music, a taster EP, Yuma, was released in 2007 before a full album release, The Good Life, in 2008
