Charming, witty romantic and seductive are some of the words that have been attributed to Jeff Bates. However, despite his distinctive tones allegedly being a product of singing in church and at school talent shows, Bates himself is quick to dismiss the notion, citing too many cigarettes and too much whiskey as being more of a key!
The now clean-cut and sober Bates landed a three month stint in jail following a spell hooked on methamphetamine, but he managed to rebuild his life and career. His sophomore outing Leave the Light On is full of autobiographical, unafraid honesty.
