Jace Everett
Born in Indiana, now a resident of the Lone Star State, Jace Everett paid his dues playing bass in a covers band touring Europe, but singing and song writing was his first love. He released his first single That's The Kind Of Love I'm In during 2005 and in 2006 released this, his self-titled debut.
Jace Everett sings with a swagger and a growl, his assured vocal delivery has a muscular feel that makes this release one of the more testosterone fuelled contemporary country albums in recent years.
Most of the ten-featured songs are co writes with Stephany Delray and on ballads such as Nowhere In The Neighbourhood and Between A Father And A Son, we can see why Jace Everett is such a hit with audiences worldwide, direct lyrics delivered with sincerity, but avoiding saccharin sweet sentimentality.
Favourite tracks on Jace Everett for me are the sultry rockabilly boogie of Bad Things and the barroom anthem I Gotta Have It showing Jace Everett can rock it with best of them. He sounds as comfortable with harder country as he does with commercial country and this album is a showcase for both his song writing skills and his wonderful singing voice. ~ James Soars
