J D Crowe and his band The New South have been defining the Bluegrass sound since the fifties, with JD's banjo picking at the forefront. A hugely influential figure in the world of Bluegrass, JD Crowe has had a number of stellar names in his band lineups over the years, but the 1975 vintage is widely considered to be the msot revered.
Included in that astonishing lineup was a veritabe who's who of Bluegrass and Folk; Ricky Skaggs, Tony Rice, Jerry Douglas and Bobby Slone.
