Into The Purple Valley
Before launching his solo career with his self-titled debut album in 1970, Ry Cooder was a much in-demand session player in the late 1960's. His sophomore outing Into The Purple Valley saw Ry Cooder blossom and bring together the best of his guitar work, and his distinctive vocal style on this collection of originals and covers.
Ry Cooder's trademark blues slide playing is much in evidence, along with his skill on a range of other stringed instruments. Songs covered include those by a diverse range of artists, including Johnny cash, Leadbelly and Woody Guthrie.
