Charlie Monroe - I'm Old Kentucky Bound 1938-1956 [4 CD Box Set]

The Older Brother of Bill Monroe, Charlie Monroe was the voice of the early Monroe Brothers recordings, and despite Bill's subsequent success and fame as the instigator of the Bluegrass genre, Charlie was an integral part of the birth of this musical movement.

Following an acrimonious split from Bill in 1938, Charlie continued to record under his own name, and I'm Old Kentucky Bound is a 4 CD set from Bear Family records which covers his career recordings from 1938 to 1956.
