One of the lesser known alt.country bands, Old 97's enjoy a massive and dedicated following. Although you may not be familiar with the name, you may well have unwittingly heard their music after featuring on shows like Scrubs and King Of The Hill and the movie The Break-Up.

Hell-raising and getting drunk plus a healthy dose of loneliness and heartbreak more or less sum up the topics of their songs, and these guys rock like they are living out the songs in 3-D. Very much falling into the 'cult' category this is a great starting point for anyone wanting to find out more about the Old 97's.
