Hillbilly Hero [4xCD Set]
Hillbilly Hero is a 4 CD Properbox set which explores the first seven years of Hank Williams' recording career between 1945 - 1951.
By New Year's day 1953 Hank would be dead. In the interim he managed to record a legacy that remains one of the greatest contributions to country and indeed popular music.
His personal life took in two marriages, years of pain with a congenital spine defect, which he sought to alleviate with drink and drugs, all of which he managed to translate into some of the most soulful music ever written, that explored a huge range of human to which any listener could relate.
Be it the heartbreak of a broken love affair, or whooping it up on a Saturday night, Hank had the ability to hit it home with a pithy song that went straight to the core of the subject.
