Here at Smart Choice Music we are dedicated to the support and promotion of new and independent music. We believe in providing equality, and allowing independent artists and labels to have the same opportunity to make their music available to customers as their larger, more established counterparts.

Unfortunately as a small company we do not have the resources to research and compile information for listings on the many new releases we are asked to stock, and consequently independent music is not getting included in the store as much as we would like it to be.

To help improve the number of independent releases we list and stock, we have put together the following guidelines for submission of CDs for sale. Following these guidelines will help us to automate the process, and has the added attraction of allowing artists and labels to ensure that our listings include all the relevant information.

How to Submit New Stock Items for Inclusion

Please send two retail-ready copies of the CD or DVD plus a promotional copy (flat-packed will be fine) to the following address:

Please provide the following information electronically, either on a CD-ROM with the CDs/DVDs, or by emailing it to newmusic@smartchoicemusic.com

• Artist Name
• Title of CD or DVD
• UPC (Bar Code) Number
• Release Date
• DVD Region Code (If Applicable)
• Your price to us per unit (including shipping)
• How and where to make payment (we prefer PayPal if possible). We will contact you once the CD/DVD begins to sell about paying for the initial copies and acquiring more stock.

Listing Information

This is the part of the submission process that will speed up getting music listed in the store. Following these guidelines exactly will mean a fast turnaround.

Please provide:

• Bio Information. This needs to be in PLAIN TEXT format of approximately 200 words, ideally broken down into small paragraphs, click here to see an example
• Website Address.
• One Photograph. The layout of the photo must be PORTRAIT. i.e. narrow top and bottom. If the picture can be supplied at the exact size of 100px x 150px that would help, but we can resize any image supplied. This is an example:

• Sleeve Artwork. We can resize any artwork provided, but again it would help if the image could be supplied at two different sizes: 100px x 100px and 250px x 250px These are examples:

• CD/DVD Description. PLAIN TEXT format of between 200 and 250 words, plus track listing. The track list should be spaced. click here to see an example
