Tom Russell - Hearts On The Line [DVD]

Tom Russell presides over an annual cross-Canada train trip which features Tom and guitarist Andrew Hardin, along with special guests doing daily performances on the train, as well as full concerts at the beginning and end of the trip in Vancouver and Toronto.

Hearts On The Line documents the 2004 trip - a combination of musical performances, views of the spectacular Canadian landscape, interviews with the performers, and interviews with Tom, Andrew Hardin, Dave Alvin and Eliza Gilkyson about Tom's songwriting craft and career.

Guest performers include The Hot Club of Cowtown, Kristi Rose, and Fats Kaplin. In addition to the train trip footage, there are performances from the Vancouver concert and the Philadelphia folk festival. Includes five new Tom Russell songs (previously unavailable) as well as an alternative performance of Ash Wednesday.
