Michael Martin Murphey - America's Number One Selling Cowboy Music Singer - has released volume 5 of his Cowboy Songs CD series, Heartland Cowboy.

Inspired by life on his ranch and his real experiences working as an activist and artist in American ranching and farming, Murphey is a best-selling and well-respected singer/songwriter known mostly for his massive hit Wildfire in the early seventies.

Heartland Cowboy tells the story of US farmers, ranchers and rural citizens. The single Close To The Land was chosen to be the theme for the PBS show America's Heartland, which is in its second season.
