Gretchen Wilson
Gretchen Wilson's rabble-rousing call for a big 'Hell Yeah' on her debut single and trademark song Redneck Woman marked the first step in 2004 of a meteoric rise to fame for the Pocahontas, Illinois native that was born to a 16 year-old mother who became sole parent when the father left before Gretchen's second birthday.
The album Here For The Party was rush-released as Wilson's popularity soared on the back of her straight-talkin' take-no-crap image, backed up with a glorious country voice.
All Jacked Up was the follow-up album, and while it was certified platinum, sales were disappointing in comparison to the predictions. Wilson's third release, One Of The Boys was released in 2007, reasserting her status as one of the top contemporary country artists.
