Gary Stewart and Dean Dillon
Dean Dillon between 1979 and 1983 charted eight times, including with one top 30 hit, I'm into the Bottle (To Get You Out of My Mind). Early songwriting success earned Dillon a recording deal but as a songwriter, early successes includes George Jones' 1983 hit, Tennessee Whiskey. Dillon has written several of George Strait's 54 number one singles.
The late Gary Stewart was one of the first 'outlaw' country performers of the 1970s. A singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist, he signed to the Kapp label in 1968, but it was his RCA deal that produced the hits Drinkin' Thing, Out of Hand and his only number one She's Actin' Single (I'm Drinkin' Doubles).
The pair cut an uneven but thoroughly enjoyable album together entitled Brotherly Love, which was released in 1982 and produced by Jerry Bradley.
