Bernice MacDonald - Garden

Born into a family of musicians, Bernice MacDonald began her singing career in a choir. She not long after discovered her passion for composing and writing her own material. Now backed by a tight bundle of charismatic young talents, Bernice brings us a variety of up-beat shiny lyrics, painted over a strong musical folk sound.

Having sang backing vocals with Ozzy and Kelly Osborne on the nationally televised ‘ Olympic Torch Concert’ and a variety of other television and radio performances showcasing her sound, Bernice is now aiming at a different market stating “ most of my influences are American or Canadian and my roots are in The Maritimes so it feels like the most natural step for me to take”.

Being compared to Joni Mitchell and Laura Nyro is quite something for a young female singer/songwriter to live up to but Bernice MacDonald has a very bright future ahead of her. A four star R2 review of her album Garden, and now accompanied by a six-strong live band, Bernice's sound combines her own upbeat, poppy lyrics with a folk-tinged backing which works beautifully.

"Bernice MacDonald is incredibly talented. She has a wonderful treasure inside of her that keeps pouring out" ~ Jerry Lansdowne, artist and songwriter for Johnny Cash
