For The Love
Tracy Lawrence was a new traditionalist honky-tonk singer in the 1990's, producing a string of hit singles and critically acclaimed albums. In short, he was part of the dreaded 'Hat Brigade', but for many he always stood apart from that crowd producing music full of credibility.
The crisp, understated production puts the emphasis on For The Love where it should be: on Tracy Lawrence's classic country voice. He has always been for tradition as well. Instead of putting just enough fiddle and steel guitar on burying them just to say they were on there, Lawrence's music sounds as if he is just taking an old-fashioned sound and gently modernising it instead of playing to the crossover crowd.
Tracy Lawrence has seen his fair share of turbulence in the past decade, but his music has always remained solid, and on For The Love we find him waxing nostalgic about God, love and rednecks. ~ Full Review in February 2007 issue of Maverick
