Seger's trademark is fusing rock and country and he doesn't stray far from his roots on Face The Promise. Blue-collar lyrics with strong rock melodies, backed up with Seger's skillful guitar playing from the man himself.

Some slow ballads and some really loud and in your face songs, Seger invited Kid Rock and Patty Loveless to join him on a couple of tracks, including Vince Gill's Real Mean Bottle.
