Donna Hughes has written over 250 songs, inspired by everything from her close knit family on a small farm in Trinity, North Carolina to love and heartbreak.
After hearing her music on the radio Barry Bales, bass player for Alison Krauss & Union Station called and asked her to send her songs for their band's consideration. The song the band recorded was My Poor Old Heart, which is on their Lonely Runs Both Ways album that received a Grammy for Country Album of the Year.
