Known as 'the Gentle Giant' because of his stature and laidback style, Texan born , Don Williams career has spanned four decades. It really started when he formed the folk-pop group Pozo-Seco Singers in 1964 although he had played in a variety of bands as a teenager.
The group disbanded seven years later and in 1972 he signed a record contract with JMI and had a Top 20 chart entry with The Shelter Of Your Eyes which started a long career in country music yielding over 50 chart singles including 17 No 1's and he was voted CMA Male Vocalist in 1978. ~ countrymusicfile
