Despite Our Differences
Despite Our Differences marks The Indigo Girls' Hollywood Records debut but still finds their trademark sound very much intact. Their own flavor of rock has its feet set firmly in the Laurel Canyon scene of the early '70s, and while there is nothing groundbreaking on this album, the solid melodies and great musicanship that defines their sound will ensure that their many fans will approve.
Amy Ray and Emily Saliers as ever counterbalance each others' leanings to rock and folk respectively. Witness Rock and Roll Heaven’s Gate which features a successful collaboration with Pink and the dark and brooding Dirt and Dead Ends.
