The Desert Rose Band was formed in 1985 by Chris Hillman (formerly of The Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers), along with Herb Pedersen and John Jorgenson.
The Desert Rose Band epitomised California country-rock, with the original lineup also featuring Bill Bryson on bass, Jay Dee Maness on pedal steeland Steve Duncan on drums.
The band managed to chart a number of singles and released several albums before disbanding in 1993.
