Beth Nielsen Chapman - Deeper Still

Beth Nielsen Chapman enjoys a rare and extraordinarily wide base of admirers - from her legions of fans to her musical peers. While her songs have been covered by the great and good in popular music, a release such at Deeper Still from 2002 tells much more about the person behind the songs.

A very personal album, reflecting the death of her husband and her subsequent fight with breast cancer, Deeper Still is almost spiritual in its content. The piano balladry is beyond compare, and Chapman's 'backing singers' are a venerable who's who of songwriting talent, adding even more weight to the proceedings.

There is little on this album as instant as This Kiss, and perhaps that improves the overall effect of this delicate and thoughtful release.
