Cryin' Heart Blues
Most of the tracks on Cryin' Heart Blues were recorded by The Band's vocalist and bass player Rick Danko with beach Boys and Rolling Stones singer Blondie Chaplin as the unreleased follow-up to Danko's debut solo album.
Rick had carefully selected a cast of West Coast players, and on one song even a clutch of celebrated surprise guest guitarists, named on the tape box as Eric, Ron and Pete.
Also included on the 2007 release of Cryin' Heart Blues are some lost recordings that feature The Band's Garth Hudson and 'Sneaky' Pete Kleinow, and some live recordings from 1979 with guest Paul Butterfield on harmonica.
