John Conlee - Country Heart

Country Heart is a compilation of material from John Conlee, who in 1988 released an album called Fellow Travelers. Country Heart pulls together tracks from that album and other John Conlee material recorded around that time. Love Stands Tall is one of the previously unreleased tracks.

John Conlee's recognisable bluesy and despairing country voice is his main asset. Unfortunately commerical success pretty much passed John Conlee by. Of his four singles included in Country Heart, Hopelessly Yours was recorded by Lee Greenwood, George Jones and Suzy Bogguss with greater success, yet many would argue that his was the superior version.

A fine collection, and the unreleased material is of the highest quality, including Texas Swing and shuffle that will please his many admirers.
