Jeff Dernlan's 2008 album release very nearly never came to light. Cobblestone was being recorded when midway through the sessions his recording engineer decided to up and leave, and took the masters with him!

Jeff Dernlan however, is not someone easily defeated, and he set about re-recording Cobblestone in its entirety, providing most of the instrumentation himself.

The result is a CD that is an object lesson in the art of the singer-songwriter. Dernlan's low growl of a voice has a rare warmth and beauty which resonates against the etheral production as he takes us through his sharply-observed vignettes about life and living in America's heartland.

Fans of Rod Picott and of Slaid Cleaves' Unsung will find much to enjoy in Cobblestone.
