For blues aficiandos this set is pure heaven. Despite the billing Carlos Santana is actually only the link that holds this set together, as each artist is afforded the luxury of their own complete performance, but with guest appearances from Santana throughout. Bobby Parker is the first to take up the challenge of matching Santana's guitar licks, which he manages to do with consummate ease.

The Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown begins in a mellow sort of way before hitting a memerising funk groove.

Buddy Guy decides that acoustic is his preferred option much of his set, but turning to his electric guitar for Stormy Monday elevates the performance to a different level altogether. The interplay between Buddy Guy and Carlos Santana is astonishing, running from a subtle beginning to a breathtaking climax with Santana displaying a previously rarely seen talent for blues guitar playing.
