Dion - Bronx In Blue

Dion as in Dion and the Belmonts, the same Dion responsible for the classics Runaround Sue and The Wanderer, one of the standard bearers for rock and roll since the fifties.

Well, Dion's 2006 album Bronx In Blue isn't just a tired rehash of his earlier successes as you might imagine. What Dion has done is take some classic blues tunes and perform them in a stripped-down format, almost like a back porch session.

Bronx In Blue covers interpretations of standards by Robert Johnson, Bo Diddley and Howling Wolf, along with some new self-penned cuts, performed by one of rock's senior statesmen, and can't come too highly recommended.
