Bluegrass Holiday
Bluegrass Holiday was originally released back in 1969, and was J.D. Crowe's historic first album. Availble on CD in 2007, the Lemco recordings have stood the test of time, and still represent the birth of the modern day Bluegrass sound.
Featuring a lineup of JD Crowe on Banjo, Red Allen on guitar and vocals, Doyle Lawson on mandolin, and Bobby Slone on bass, the album was recorded as nothing more than a thank you for the JD Crowe fans, but was to become the first step towards international acclaim for Crowe and his band. Four rare bonus tracks are included in the set, together with liner notes and photos.
