Blue Pony is Julie Miller's 'proper' debut album, and features the many talents of husband Buddy Miller, pooling their vocals and instrumentation as they have done so successfully on Buddy's solo albums.

Julie Miller's vocals have a breathy, innocence to them and there is thread of spirituality that runs through Blue Pony, yet somehow there seems to be an earthiness that elevates the album through Julie's touching and memorable lyrics.

The bluesy stomp of Buddy's work is in evidence throughout, and drives Blue Pony along on the back of chunky rhythms and percussion. A dazzling solo debut that has overtones of Gillian Welch's traditionalism and Spyboy's modern heartbeat.
