The Ginn Sisters - Blood Oranges

Brit and Tiffani Ginn aka The Ginn Sisters are based in Austin TX and on their new CD Blood Oranges they are clearly at home with their small town upbringing and mix old fashioned values with powerful vocals to produce one of the freshest sounds around.

Lead vocalist Tiffani wrote or co-wrote 12 of the 13 songs, and sister Brit lends her harmony vocals to Blood Oranges alongside a few lead appearances of her own.

The harmonising is is a joy and one of the most striking features of this album. Blood Oranges is an extremely forceful album, virtually in-your-face in its directness. However, there are more tender moments of Americana roots too, particularly when Tiffani and Brit sing alone to guitar, for example on Not My Friend and Dancing Shoes.
