Blind Man Walking
Cadillac Sky, or C-Sky as they like to be referred to are keeping faith with the Monroe traditionals of Bluegrass, but at the same time have joined the ranks of the progressive bluegrass movement with their 2007 release Blind Man Walking.
There is extensive mandolin interplay by some of the finest exponents of the instrument, but strong songwriting from vocalist Bryan Simpson sets this quintet apart from their peers. Simpson has had songs recorded by the likes of Kenny Rogers, George Strait and Gretchen Wilson, and his lyrics are clever storytelling. This extends the realms of the limitations of pure Bluegrass, but traditionalists will not be disappointed by this fine addition to the New Grass Revival legion.
