Blame It On The Dog
Released in 1997 The Thompson Brothers Band debut CD Blame It On The Dog was mooted as being the next big thing. Produced by Bill Lloyd (Of Foster and Lloyd fame), the album is a mixture of covers and self-penned tracks and has an upbeat country-pop vibe.
A great example of one of the well chosen covers is a rough'n'ready version of Willie Nelson's Pick Up The Tempo in which Steve Earle makes an appearance. Americana name-spotters will note the appearance of Poco's Rusty Young on steel and the ubiquitous Sam Bush on mandolin and fiddle on Blame It On The Dog.
