Dave Alvin - Blackjack David

The Blasters made their name as California rockabilly punks in the late seventies, but lead guitarist Dave Alvin went on to become a noted country singer-songwriter. Sincere songwriting is Dave Alvin's stock-in-trade, and his 1998 release Blackjack David was his best release up until that time. Producer Greg Leisz takes a lot of credit for giving Alvin the space on this album to explore his deep and wistful lyrical expertise.

The quality present on Blackjack David was fully appreciated with a remastered version of the album with new liner notes.
