Greg Keelor - Aphrodite Rose

My first impression upon listening to Aphrodite Rose, the third solo offering from Blue Rodeo's Greg Keelor, is how very few of these songs would fit into a typical Blue Rodeo album nowadays. For the most part, Keelor tends to be a little more musically adventurous and expansive in comparison to Blue Rodeo partner Jim Cuddy and those little extras are what makes worth taking this album in.

It took a few listens to fully appreciate the record however, I find myself enjoying the disc now that I have become more familiar with it. It's great to see Keelor spread his wings a little beyond Blue Rodeo's excellent but mostly safe parameters. ~ Full Review at Here magazine
