Another Long Story
Kevin Montgomery's second studio album Another Long Story is filled with stellar songs, from the semiautobiographical title cut to the heartbreaking Angel Tonight, about a woman on the verge of suicide. Less brash and more introspective that its predecessor Fear Nothing this album works on many levels.
Let's All Go to California, with its rock-charged rhythm and Neil Young leanings, and Lookin' Out for #1, a stinging commentary on the selfish, indifferent side of human nature are two of the most powerful and driving arrangements. Montgomery even manages to outshine the original on his delicate cover of Springsteen's I Wish I Were Blind. Powerful, all of it. These are songs that demand repeat listens. Settle back and let this one wash over you ...
