Ox - American Lo-Fi

Another alt.country band from the vibrant Canadian music scene are Ox, and they have released their album American Lo-Fi, a follow up to their critically acclaimed debut Dust Bowl Revival.

Drawling and cracked, the vocals of Mark Browning and his alter-ego Ox have been compared to Neil Young and Wilco. The sound is definitely the 'alt' part of alt.country, but this outing is a more considered and sensitive affair with browning sounding elegantly wasted.

Mark Browning is a significant talent, the latest from the line of great americana music merchants coming from north of the border, Loomer possibly being the most well know in the UK, and American Lo-Fi is a fine addition to the clutch of great albums being produced.
