Alison Krauss grew up in Champaign, Illinois, where her parents encouraged her to play instruments at an early age and pretty soon she was taking fiddle contests and bluegrass festivals by storm.
Rounder Records signed Alison Krauss at fourteen years old, and she became the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry. Her talents are many, not least her virtuoso fiddle playing, but her light and delicate voice has gained fans beyond the folk and bluegrass communities, and she has become as well known as a vocalist as she has instrumentalist.
