After The Wrecking Ships
With a melancholy voice that has been compared to Nick Drake, David Berkeley is enjoying a lot of success with his sophomore album After The Wrecking Ships.
In the vanguard of the new wave of singer-songwriters, the layers of sound that accompany After The Wrecking Ships are drawing in fans of Coldplay and Beck. However fundamentally this is the folk-rock of Drake and even Donovan, so capturing in a young fanbase is an exceptionally hard task, but one he is succeeding in.
Recorded in a basement in New York, Berkeley has assembled a fine second album, with more bite than the debut The Confluence. Bonus track Fire Sign has been picked up by CBS TV for their mini series Without A Trace, further adding to the singer's credibility.
