A Thousand Questions Why
Yvonne Lyon's third album, A Thousand Questions Why was released in August 2007 and has been eagerly anticipated by the countless fans of the Scottish singer-songwriter. Two years after Yvonne's album Fearless, this new collection has again been produced by Graeme Duffin & Sandy Jones and has been enjoying a lot of support from BBC radio, including a live sessions on the Bob Harris Show. Yvonne was also features on BBC1's Heaven & Earth show with Gloria Hunniford.
Yvonne's beautifully warm, clear and uplifting vocals are to the fore, with mainly simple acoustic accompaniment - the piano and guitar giving A Thousand Questions Why a feel reminiscent of Beth Nielsen Chapman at her finest.
While the new album is a less intimate affair than Fearless, with its bright, uptempo start on Everything's Fine, the sympathetic production ensures that Yvonne's delicate vocals and sincere lyrics are dominant throughout. A gospel reading of the traditional Down To The River To Pray bookends a fine album from one of the brightest talents around.
