Alecia Nugent - A Little Girl, A Big Four-Lane

Alecia Nugent has released her second album, A Little Girl...A Big Four-Lane and continues the tradition of her debut album in mixing acoustic and bluegrass music with some of the best songwriting to come out of Nashville.

Grammy Award winning producer and songwriter Carl Jackson has assembled a fine cast of musicians to help A Little Girl...A Big Four-Lane along, and the contributions of Bradley Walker, Alison Krauss and Cia Cherryholmes amongst others certainly don't go unnoticed in this fine set.

Although Alecia Nugent has a country-pop sound at the heart of her recordings, there is enough genuine, unblemished traditional and heartfelt pure country in the album to ensure that traditionalists are not turned off. However, in career terms this probably means that Nugent will struggle to get the type of airplay that her rockier counterparts in Nashville enjoy.
