A Concert Behind Prison Walls [DVD+CD] with Linda Ronstadt
Johnny Cash headlines this 1976 televised Concert Behind Prison Walls, shot inside the Tennessee State Prison, also featuring Linda Ronstadt, country picker Roy Clark, and the tuxedo-ed comedian Foster Brooks.
Ronstadt's pop-blues are a timely reminder of exactly how good a singer she is, with her decptively sweet image, and Clark's showmanship works, although Foster Brooks may be an acquired taste for those without an American sense of humour.
But it is the Man In Black singing the powerful Sunday Morning Coming Down, Folsom Prison Blues, and a fierce Boy Named Sue that clearly resonates with this particular audience.
This special Collector's Edition features a bonus CD of the performance.
